Default Where to get service information?

I just bought a 2006 Express 3500 Extended Diesel... and it won't crank. In searching this forum I've read about other people having similar problems, along with advice on which fuses to check and other basic troubleshooting.

Where can I get a shop manual for this rig? Helm does not list one for sale at this point.
There are DVDs for sale pretty cheap on eBay, but who the F#$% knows where they're coming from and what kind of malware is on them with the service info.

Is there an official source short of an AllData subscription?

Thanks!

Ebay junk: I risked $15 on one DVD and lost. Well, mostly. All the torques have made sense so far, but the thing is a 8000+ page PDF. Takes quite a bit of computer memory to open the dumb thing. No hot links, hard to search.
At least it does have pictures, not the greatest quality but do help.

I run Linux instead of Windows on my system and refuse to run any Adobe crap, little to no risk for me as far as malware.

That's for '05, which means it doesn't cover the diesel, which started in '06.

YeahhhhhhNo. I'm just not going to buy something of such extremely unknown provenance with a huge potential for abuse.

I did find the full 3 volume set of 2006 paper manuals from an Amazon seller for $350, so that problem is solved.

Actually AllData subscriptions aren't even that expensive, now that I look at them.

How much?

In the past, I've got to the public library to use their Alldata access for free.
