1985 winnebago G30 350 V8
I'll be completely honest I know almost nothing when it comes to an RV or older motors, but I love a project so o can't resist. I'm getting a great deal on a Winnebago mini winnie w/ Chevy 350. 1985. I'm hoping I can get some pointers as to what I can check for / common issues with this motor or era.
The whole thing is halfway gutted so I'll be redoing the interior. I work on my own car and truck so I've got the basics down (check oil brakes frame rust brake lines etc) but hoping for any tips!
Thanks
Joe

I had an 84 pickup, so its likely the same 350 4 bbl carb and either the turbo 400 or the 700r4 tranny. If you have the 7004r (4spd with overdrive) then you may want to get that serviced, and add a cooler.....those early versions of that tranny needed some love.

Thanks!
Thanks I appreciate it! I saw the parts for it are pretty cheap. I also read on a forum or two something about buying a different cam to up the MPG, not sure how true that is. Carbs are a whole new beast to me.
I'll check the trans, I'm assuming that can be found somewhere easily accessible? Or found by using the model number on the body of the RV to decode it.
I'll definitely put a cooler to make sure it doesn't overheat. Is it something where I can upgrade an existing cooler or will it be entirely new to the transmission?
Thank you again

What chassis is the RV built on? G30? Once you know that, figuring out what you have will be easier.
If you have Carb issues, put an Edelbrock carb on it... simple and easy.
