Hello everyone,
I am new to the site and this is my first post.
I live in Scotland in the UK and last year I bought an old beat up Chevy Dayvan with the 5.0L engine as a restoration project. Mainly I have been concentrating on the bodywork so far but recently when I went to move the van it really lacked the torque to move it. The engine was revving but the van wasn't going anywhere fast. If the van was a manual transmission I would say the clutch is on its way out but as it is an automatic and I don't have a great deal of knowledge of these and how they clutch and change gears, I am looking for some pointers or advice.
Is there a clutch/ transmission overhaul kit that can be purchased and has anyone had any experience of completing such a job?

if your in europe the rebuild kit isnt hard to get. u just have to know the model number. hopefully the TH400/700R4. Same transmission is in the Jaguar XJ12, all Rolls Royce/Bentleys and Lamborghinis/Ferraris from that time that have an automatic.
