Look at the wires going to the cam sensor on the distributor. The wires corrode as they get to the electrical connector. I had the no start issue and this solved it.

It looks like this one. There isn’t a lock on it which is what I was looking for, I’m trying to do it without dropping the tank because it’s over half full and dont have anything to drain it into. So being able to actually get a good look at it is almost impossible, I can barely get my hand in there to get to it

I was almost certain it was the cam sensor and when it didn’t work I turned to posting on this forum. Was your issue the connector or was it one of the wires going to it?

Does anyone know if these vans have a fuel pressure sensor somewhere? I haven’t looked because I don’t think they do but it just popped into my head

It was the wires going to it. I bought another connector with wires and clipped off the corroded one and soldered in the new one. I cut back about 10-12 inches.
You should be able to strip a wire close to the connector to check if you have corrosion on the leads.

What's the expected fuel pressure? My old '87 L98 5.7 engine specs are around 35-40psi. I would expect there is a sensor in place to stop ignition if the pressure is excessive, over by 20psi could get scary otherwise.

Specs for the 2001 Savana van are about 60PSI.

Okay so I know it’s been a long time I forgot about this forum. But if anyone else is having this issue and comes across this I just want to update what it was in case it can help. All it was at the end of the day is that the computer was rotting out and about 3 feet from the computer there was a break in a wire. I went to one of the mechanic shops that can hook their laptop up and it told them exactly what it was. Knowing how to work on vehicles is one thing but if you can find someone with the correct tools it’s worth the money
