Please, I would like to see that. I figure cars have it low on the vehicle, and it should look pretty good. Your location is what I am thinking

yeah I'd prefer it higher, and aimed so that the bumper is visible

Well, I don't think you are going to find a camera that mounts to the third brake light for vans before 2003 unfortunately. I suppose you could dremel one into the existing third brake light? I have not really looked closely enough

I have a 2013, but it doesn't matter. There are many options. It doesn't need to be in the brake light.

For me this works fine and for a solution that basically came for free with the Android radio that I primarily bought for the navigation options I don't complain. Total price for the complete set was under $200.
I assume you saw the angle that I mounted the camera. It is no problem to aim it more down to bring the bumper in the image. (Btw, that last camera you post is the exact same as the one I have)

Success finding the perfect solution!

The radio is a Ninephi 9" 2Gb RAM, 32Gb flash with carplay with matching reverse camera
Please order an extra 10m cable for the camera as the standard 6m cable is too short for a van.

To mount a 1 DIN radio in the place of the factory radio, I used a Metra 99-3002 dash kit which fits my '97 Express (it looks support is only until a 2000 Express, so for your 2001 you would have to look for something else)
To connect the radio to the factory harness I used the Metra 70-1858 plug (please also check if that fits your year).

Installing the whole set is not difficult and can be done yourself. I hope you can use the part numbers.

All integrates nicely with the car:
- The reverse cam starts when putting the gear selector in reverse (the signal to do so is taken from one of the reverse lights. This also powers the camera)
- The automatic antenna comes up when starting the radio app
- Illumination of the screen becomes darker when switching on the headlights
- It supports 4 speakers (front LR and rear LR)
- It has an extra output for an amp to power a sub (as the factory speakers need some support in the lower frequencies)

All-in-all I'm happy with the system which I primarily bought as a Android navigation system / radio / audio source. The rear cam was a bonus for me.
Although, when I would buy one again, I would choose a radio with a faster Android chip and more flash memory (something like a Joying single DIN with 8Gb RAM and 128Gb flash) as the radio that I have is not particularly fast. Costs 3x more, but I think is is worth the money.

I didn't want to change out the head unit from stock or run wires. This bluetooth camera mounted on the license plate works excellently. Also purchased the optional solar charger which works as advertised. I have it wired to a switched source so it automatically comes on for 60 seconds on vehicle start (adjustable from 30 to 90 seconds) and mounted on the backside of the driver's sun visor. Flip the visor down when backing and up when not in use. You can add an additional bluetooth camera to the system on the front bumper or to provide security. Very happy with the field of view.
