Default 2001 Express Cargo 2500 Stereo Wiring

I have been attempting to replace the stereo on my 2001 Chevy Express Cargo 2500. I've installed stereos in every vehicle I've ever owned myself so I generally know what I'm doing. However, on this van whoever put the after market stereo in it that it had when I acquired the vehicle, they removed the factory wiring harness and put a wiring harness from a different type of vehicle in it instead of buying a wiring harness to fit the factory harness. So I've got no clue at the moment what each color wire for this Van's stereo wiring is for. I've tried to look up a wiring diagram for my van online but havent found anything to match the wiring in the van. I've tried wiring using the harness that was already there but it always blows the fuel and when plugged in the van wont start so there has to be some wires that are not properly placed.

I've provided a picture of what the wiring looks like and the harness whoever put in it used. Is there anyone that can tell me what each colored wire for this vans stereo represents so I can get this new stereo properly installed?

FWIW, GM wiring have used those color codes on the speaker wire for ages, my G-vans are the same.

It is very easy to confuse the grey speaker wire with the grey dimmer wire.
