Helping a neighbor with his 2001 Express 2500. Taillights all messed up, no running, stop or turn. I found power going back, but the harnesses to the lights were bad. I replaced them with the Dorman units. The sockets on these are horrible, the contacts for the bulbs are very thin, instead of wide copper strips. Power still going where it should, but the slightest tap on the 1157 bulbs and they go out. Thinking about replacing these with later model housings and harnesses that use the 3157 bulbs, they appear to be interchangeable. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you.
