Have a 2005 Express 3500 with 6.0L. Usually runs great but lately while driving it'll sometimes just die/surge and then continue running. Sometimes it'll just completley die and not start back up right away. But guaranteed after sitting for just 5 to 30 minutes it'll fire right back up and be great with no issues or maybe a surge here or there. When it's dead it will crank no problem just no start. Has a new fuel pump installed one year ago and I can hear that running. No codes stored when this is all happening except once and it had a crank sensor code, but never again.

i had the exact same problem with my 2003 2500 van...turns out the wiring harness that holds the crank sensor wires on the passenger side of the motor was rubbing on the front of the passenger front head causing it to ground the sensor wires. you can see the harness pretty good from the passenger front wheel well. check that out and PLEASE post if you fix it.

What a coincidence, that's exactly what I had happen last year. Damn wire chafing on the frame. Had repaired that and thought it was doing it again.. Not so lucky. I have checked my wiring all thru the van and can't find any issues thus far.
Driving me nuts.

Yeah that actually took care of it.. I bought a scanner and finally caught it in the act.. Damn thing was so intermittent and van ran most of the time.
All I have to say is never buy a sensor off of Amazon. Bought two different ones and they were bad right out of the box. Bought one from auto store and shes been working great ever since.
