I have an 06 express 3500 with a blown lbz duramax. When it happened several years ago I was quoted like $20k to get it fixed which was not going to happen. I was curious since the 21 and up express vans come.with the new 6.6 v8, could I swap one into my van? Or is a different gas burner better? Or a different duramax year model maybe? I'm just looking for my best options right now. Thanks in advance!

 

The only thing the new gas 6.6l shares in common with the diesel 6.6l is the displacement. You would be better off doing either an older "LS swap" like a similar year 6.0l or getting the Duramax replaced.
