My question is regarding how to remove the vapor canister. I have disconnected the hoses, but can’t figure out how to disengage the canister from the support bracket. Other than the two zip-ties, I don’t see any other fasteners. At first I thought that the zip-ties had been added by a previous owner, but it turns out that the GM parts book has a listing for them. The tabs on the bracket (an integrally molded part of the tank) fit into pockets in the top and bottom of the canister. After cutting the zip-ties the canister is a little loose, but I can’t determine how to remove it. I’m guessing that there is a way to “pop” the canister out of the bracket, butI don’t want to force it and risk breaking the bracket. Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I figured it out. By flexing the bottom tabs out of the canister, with a large flat blade screwdriver, it came out of the bracket. Just took a little more effort than I was expecting.
