That van should have the 6L90 transmission. Can't tell you about the neutral switch.

Agree that the switch is inside the transmission.

Nick from 'Nicks Transmissions" on YouTube does a good job breaking down how to test yours.

Might be a slightly different transmission (6l80 vs 6l90) from the one in your van, but should be close enough to get you an idea of where to go. Looks like you can swap the switch by dropping the pan. I didn't poke around his channel to see if he has one more specific, but it's possible.

For a replacement only get an AC Delco. Don't go aftermarket. Good luck!

thanks for the info and link, looks pretty easy, they show a special tool that looks like a female torx bolt, or is it something different?

I think that's an E-Torx, or external torx head. You can pick up those sockets wherever you like to buy tools.

Like BurntClutch said, It's an E-Torx. I'd recommend getting a set for your tool collection. You don't need the Snap On tool. A cheap set is okay since they're usually not high torque. You don't need them often but when you do you do. They're often used on the end of studs too.
