Default 2017 Savana - reprogram headlights

Hey folks, I've got a 2017 cargo van that's setup for the headlights to be on anytime the vehicle is running. Local dealer says the BCM can't be reprogrammed so that the headlights can be operated in a conventional manner. I'd like to be able to just turn them on and off as needed. Anyone have any firsthand knowledge as to whether this can be done or not? If yes, any idea as to where I can find the instructions to give to my dealer?

Thx

I think the chances of your dealer doing that are extremely low.

Why do you say that that? And the question remains, is it possible to do that in the first place..

Anything is possible. The question should be is it worth it.

In my experience, the dealer won't install anything that isn't OEM.

So from a technical standpoint, you don't have a clue as to whether this reprogram can be done or not, you have no firsthand experience regarding this question whatsoever, Why did you even bother replying to the question in the first place if you can be of absolutely no assistance? I just figured I'd carry this out since I've wasted time on multiple replies..

Hopefully someone who actually knows the answer to the OP will chime in at some point or I can find the answer somewhere else.

I replied because you said you were going on a mission to research this, and then give instructions to your dealer, which sounds foolhardy. First ask the dealer if they would even consider such a thing, and then go from there.

Going the programing route is one way, but I think that the dealer will not touch it. Sure you could spend month researching how to hack it, buying equipment etc. but it makes no sense.

I definitely have a clue how to do this using physical switches, but it would require sitting down, studying the wiring diagrams (something which it sounds like you haven't even attempted), and coming up with a solution.. I'm not going to do that because it's a waste of time for me.

I'm just trying to spare you some disappointment.
