Default 6.6L Gas

So in the HD Silverado's, GM dropped the 6.0L and built a bigger 6.6L.

Just surprises me with the price of fuel. In some places in the States it's less than half of what it costs here but still. With the "world coming to an end and all" ...

If you're buying an engine that big, it's because you need it for commercial use. Or you have too much money.

Isn't there a straight 6 diesel coming out too? I wonder if GM will put that in the vans.

Agree. With the high mark up to get a diesel I can purchase the big gas engine and for the difference I can buy a lot of gas. Plus diesels have a higher maintenance and repair costs. I recently did a fuel cost comparison between a diesel and gasoline engines. At the time the price difference between gas and diesel was 85-90 cts per gallon and actually was in favor of the gasoline engine despite it getting less fuel mileage. The only advantage the diesel had was if one was towing more than 50% of the time and even then you'd be lucky of the diesel would break even let alone pay for itself.
