Default 92 G20 - Mystery Wire attached to indicator bulb

I pulled my instrument cluster out today to replace some indicator bulbs. These are the PC bulbls that get their electircal connection via direct connection to the circuit board on the back of the palen.

One of the bulbs has a wire attached to it that comes from the harness. It desn't seem to have anythign to do with the dash lighting, but must have some other purpose. That bulb is burned out, but looks like it can be removed from the socket whereas with all the other bulbs, the bulb and socket are part of an assembly and replaced as a unit.

Does anyone know what that wire is for?
I'll try to post a pic tomorrow.

this wire is isolated from the bulb contacts, so it has nothing to do with the dash lghting.
my bese guys is that it own a soon of some sort. Either temp or magnetism.

It does appear to have a fibre optic cable attached. What you could do, see where the other end of the attached cable ends and that should give you some idea of what you possibly not noticed is not indicating an on/off indication. Sometimes it is a small dot that we don't notice is showing the lights are on.

There's a similar connector on the back of the heater controls, but it is also attached to a bulb. Maybe backup lighting?

I may disconnect it and see what happens.

Exactly this. I'll try to update w/a pic from my phone but if you have a cigarette lighter there's a fiberoptic light above it.
