Default AC Pressure Cycling Switch Question

2003 Express AWD 5.3L here. I have a quick question about the AC system. I need to replace the low pressure cycling switch that's located on the Accumulator. I need to know if I have to have the system discharged in order to replace that switch, or can I just pop the old one off and put the new one on without discharging the system?

You don't have to discharge it. Just change it out.

Kevin, check your info. There is a Schrader valve under the pressure switches that seals off the system if removed. And nowhere in GM Globalconnect does it say to discharge before changing.

Just change it. All pressure switches have Schrader valves as stated above.

Thanks for your input everyone. To the folks who said that there was a Schrader valve behind the switch you were exactly right. Changing the switch out was as easy as removing the old one and putting in the new one. Thanks again!
