Default Aftermarket seat heaters?

Browsing eBay and I found these:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-Car-Sea.../173477744673?

I have stock vinyl seats in my van. I'm about to take the driver's seat apart and replace the foam and cover and thought it would be a great time to install these. Any reason I shouldn't?

Not interested in the heated seat pads that sit on top of the seat, only looking for internal heaters.

great idea, they wont slip off when getting in and out.
i read somewhere that using remote starters and running your van to warm it up puts extra wear on the engine and the best way to warm the engine is just to drive it.
Remote starting for 3 minutes with these on would do the trick in the winter to be on your way in comfort. saves fuel too.
I like those windshield covers to save ice off the wipers. good winter setup for the cold winters we get up here there in the northeast USA.
~happy vanning!

Great idea. If you decide to install heaters, please document the procedure for the rest of us! Very interested!

I decided against doing the heaters right now. It's an unnecessary expense at the moment, it was more of a luxury item. I need to get my vibration issue worked out before putting more money into it. However, after replacing the seat bottom foam and cover today (in the What did you do to your van today? thread), I can say that installing the heaters would be super easy. The seat itself is very easy to take apart and put back together, and wiring up a switch and power would be a snap. See the video below for detailed disassembly/assembly of the seat, adding the heaters would be a simple project.
