While disassembling the air filter housing to remove the AMM I find there are two (maybe only one?) rubber isolation bushings underneath the air filter housing installed over press on shafts. They can not be reached.

I want to remove the air filter housing to allow some room to take out the AMM for cleaning. I find there are three bolts holding the AMM to the air filter housing with one on the bottom that could be reached easily with the air filter housing Off.

Even if I am able to pop off the rubber bushing I can not imagine pressing the bushing back On during installation in the space available.
I do not see a slot that would allow the bushing to slide out.

There is NOTHING in the maintenance manual referring to the bushings - or the bolts on the AMM for that matter.
I am finding NOTHING on-line, even for the exact year and size of my van, that addresses these bushings.
What I do see is these bushings and shafts having been ripped off.

Is there a trick I am missing?

 

The bushings are dumbbell shaped and secured to the bottom of the air filter housing.
Lift straight Up and wiggle gently.

... well were dumb bell shaped. The bottom portion is long gone.

 

It was a good idea to remove the entire air intake housing. The third bolt holding in the AMM in place was all but unmanageable on the bottom of the assembly.

There was only the top half remaining of the rubber isolators under the intake housing. I rubber cemented the good halves to the bottom of the air intake housing to hold them in place during assembly.
