I think either engine would be fine, it's just a question of whether you want to spend the next few years saying "darn, I wish I had more power" or "darn, I wish I got better gas milage". :-)

If you're looking to buy new, I think the choice is already made for you. The web site still shows the 6.6 as an option, but the dealers I talked to said that Chevrolet wasn't taking orders with the V8.
