Have you tried pulling one plug off at a time while its running and finding out which cylinder is misfiring? Im guessing its a coil pack.

UPDATE!!! was driving it arond town parked it went to auto zone started it back up andhurd a awfull clack clack clack limped it all the way back home pulled the dog house off started it back up and noticed it was comming from the passanger side crap!!! so pulled the coils and the valv cover off inspected it and noticed i had a broken valve spring "you got to be kidding!!!!" so i pulled the rocker arm and spring from both sides the spin freely and work up and down fully but i did notice i think cant really tell but it looks like the vale might of taped the piston i really hope this rules out a bent valve as for the push rods idk how much out of round they come stock? mine might just have the slightest wobble to them??? any thing you think could of cause this and dou you guys think this could be my problem all along and would this cause a miss on 5 and 7 to being there on the other side of the motor? any more things i need to check to make shure nothing damaged?

I will keep up with you as I have a 01 5.7 vortec that just started a similar issue-missfire on the number 4 cylinder. My van is now consuming oil and the plug at number 4 is fouing with oil. I havent removed the valve cover but I will do this after reading yours. Good luck with the repair and keep us posted.
