Default Changing out the Antenna

Hello, my 2006 3500 Express Van lost its antenna at the car wash...2 questions: #1 How difficult is it to replace and #2 is there a shorter type antenna less prone to snapping off that can be used instead. Thanks.

should just unscrew from the mast. there are shorter antenna but they may not work as well. the antenna length correlates to the wavelength of the radio signal so if you like fm...bigger is better.

It is snapped at the base...I think I need to go in and remove it from the mount. I have not even looked under hood yet, was googling, and have seen some posts indicating I might have to go through the wheel well...Just trying to determine if I can do this or do I need to take into my mechanic. Thank you for your prompt response.
