Default Couple ?s on conversion van fiberglass running board supports

Couple ?s on conversion van fiberglass running board supports

Apparently I’m missing a couple of supports.

I have only 2 on each side.

Just guessing I believe originally there where 2 supports under front door forward of door

An at the rear most of door. Then the 3rd support under middle of 60% (larger side door)

So I guess 3 supports per side.which if you ask me is kindof of flimsy if a heavy person stepped on it exspecialley being fiberglass.

Currently I’m refurbing both RBs repairing a few cracks, repainting & reglueing the slip resistant step on.

Apparently I’m missing the pass. Side door support & the driver front so I need 2 surpports.

The aireis universal kit has 3 per side

Amazon Amazon

1.how many supports where used on each side?

2.can truck supports work as substitutes? Same ? for tahoes? & envoys?
3. will ford econolines surpports fit?

Thanks for advice

this ebay stuff looks close but it's lacking the long threaded rod & bracket that bolts to inside rocker.
I'm on the waiting list for when a express or savana is available at the local pull part, could be waiting from now till doomsday for a conversion.

You can use some allthread in place of the long threaded rod that you will need and that bracket looks like it is easy to make.

I could probable drill though the step use big washer inside step and long button head threaded rod. I actuelly fab alot of stuff but out of aluminum.
there are used tahoe running board available localley however the tahoe bolt to the inside rocker where the express bolts to the floor & inside rocker.

I could leave them off but they look cool & make embarking dissembarking easier.

thanks

Conversion brackets probably are their own beast. Personally I'd just toss all that stuff in a dumpster and forget it was ever there, but seems to me the fast way to getting brackets is shuffle the ones you have now where you need them and put some of the Amazon kit ones in the other places.

next time I'm at the scrape yard I'll be on lookout for some curved aluminum tubes an fab a few braces.the boards are much lower than inside step.
I don't like the first giant step on entering.
