Welcome from Florida. You don't say what year or engine you have. Did you replace the sensor? Are there any codes now?

Since it attempted to run with the starting fluid , it would suggest there is a fuel supply problem.

What you might consider, remove a plug or two and see if there is any fuel getting there, are they wet or dry?
If dry , a good place to start is ALL the fuses. If they all check out OK, then listen for the fuel pump run for 2-3 seconds when you first turn the key on. Do you hear it run?

If so, pump would seem to be working if not, you need to look further into fuel pump power and ground connections. Sometimes a good rap at the bottom of the fuel tank will allow the fuel pump to start running. This only works once. Then the fuel pump itself needs to be replaced.

I'd try the easy stuff first... replace the fuel pump relay or swap it for the AC relay.
