Default No codes?

On my 1996 Chevy k1500 the engine light is on. But when we hooked up a diagnostic check, it didnt come up with any codes, the truck does not run at all at the moment. What could be the problem?

Ya but i'm not sure what the fuel pressure is. I gotta put the pressure tester on and see what she says. It now shows codes and it says oxygen sensor, oxygen sensor heater, comp *inset 2nd word here*, and what not. It is very confusing.

02 codes won't cause a no start as the ecm doesn't use oxygen sensor data for starting.

are the codes may be pending? I know if you dont drive it through its cycle the codes will not come on, Sounds stupid but either clear it by a reader or unhook your battery to reset the light. -on second look i didnt read it wasnt running, not too sure there but check suck, bang, blow

Do you have compression? Does it try to start? Are all components spinning when you try to start?
