I had one where the ball bearings were overloaded and turned the ***** to powder and one where the bolts holding the column together loosen up putting a huge amount of slop in the steering wheel.

My '16 has one, and it's broke. I'd stick with using the steering wheel.

For the Driver's Side Grab Handle, you need the anchor welded onto the A-Pillar. It's not going to be as simple as swamping the trim piece. I'd post a picture as my pillars are bare at the moment, but it's just not worth my time.

Yes, the older tilt will loosen up if used as a handle. But the newer ones are an entirely different design.
