My friend has an Ebay ELM clone that came with a car he bought that I can play with ,

What other info do you find helpful that you can get from the ELM ?

Thanks for the info
Hi, I think the Romanian company that I bought my ELM327 scanner from, is no longer there. I think it is sold from from a company in Enschede, Netherlands. $120 shipping included. You'll have to get the Torque Pro app too.

I have a 2008 1500 Chevy Express 4.3. I think you'll have to buy something and see what your van supports.Top pic is short and long term fuel trims, O2 sensors, revs and intake temp. Bottom pic revs, oil pressure, oil temp, coolant temp, outside air temp, trans fluid temp, volts, and average mpg.

Here's what I use.

It gives me ATF temp , engine oil temp , RPM and tons more with the free app. It's enough to get you started.

I suspect that the clone devices are limited in what PIDS can be read. An example is that my DLC reads the TPMS and gives me reading for each wheel. My clone won't read them.

Maybe. Tire pressure is already on my cluster display. For $3 you get a lot of information. Great value.

it would be interesting to have someone with a "Real" ELM compare that with a clone one and see what is missing ,

But really it would have to be on a Van the same year as the clone software ,
things that GM added after the clone software date might not be included unless you add the Code file yourself ,

or just order a clone for $3 and see if there's information missing that you actually want. Then decide if it's worth another $117 to you.
