Default Express 2500 05, oil pressure dropped

Was driving my van and suddenly, heard a knocking noise and oil pressure dropped to zero. Replaced oil, oil filter and oil pump. Pressure didn't recover and noise still there, any insights? Ideas?

Please help.

Oil pressure is not created by the oil pump it is created by bearing clearance. You have spun a bearing and need a new engine. Once an engine is knocking it is finished

Let me guess... no previous problems, then one day your engine automagically lost 3 qts of oil without smoking, obvious leaks or blowing a gasket? More than one person has had that with the 5.7L... what engine is in yours? How much oil was in it when the problem occurred?

On mine, it was the #1`rod/main bearing that spun. I did buy some time by installing oversize bearings every few weeks but it didn't take long until it was beyond even a .060 bearing doing any good.

Yep - if it's knocking, it's pretty much toast. 5.7L's also seem to have a problem w/ wrist pins - they go bad & then that rod hammers out the rod bearing on the crank.

Remember when all you needed to fix a 350 was some duct tape & a hammer?
