Default Express 3500 - chassis and wheel bearing grease

2003 Chevrolet Express 3500 Cargo Van gas V8

In the 2003 service manual chassis grease and wheel bearing grease have comparable specs and different GM part numbers.

Is anyone able to clarify if there is something really different between the two GM part numbers and/or the performance characteristics of each?

Chassis grease:
Manual; page 0-35
meets NLGI #2, category LB or GC-LB
(GM P# 12377985)

Wheel bearing grease:
Manual; page 0-35
meets NLGI #2, category GC or GC-LB
(GM P# 1051344)

I would say you could use either one:https://chevroletforum.com/forum/att...1&d=1491672300

Interesting. I have never looked past the written description. Is there a large price difference in the two products. What does the product use description on the label say?

the operating environments of wheel bearing grease are much more demanding so i assumed they were different.
