1998 express speedometer doubles speed as you accelerate ie50 is showing 100 and then engine dies like it is sensing overspeed, also abs light is on. already tried changing speed sensor on tranny, now what can i do

 

My guess would be a bad guage cluster or in other words the speedometer is bad, but the speed cut off is strange, maybe the speed limiter is connected with the guage, hopefully someone else here knows more on this one.

 

finally took to local mechanic for diagnostic,found loose wire connection in speed sensor harness,works fine now
