Express van Clunk when body rolls left
Hi everyone,
I have a 2002 Express 1500 5.7 Explorer conversion. When I make a right turn and the body rolls to the left I get a clunk from underneath. It seems more like a suspension clunk rather than a steering issue because if I'm midway through the turn and the body levels and then rolls left again I get the clunk again without any changes in direction from steering. This happens only when turning right. Turning left is quiet and smooth. I know I need a u-joint but I don't think that could cause the clunk. This is a different clunk. more springy sounding. Does anyone have any clues ?
Thanks

I just had the wheel bearings changed which needed doing and the clunk is still there. My mechanic suggested it could be something as simple as a brake pad retaining clip and the clunk being the pad moving in the caliper more than it should ? Has anybody else experienced this ?
