I had a 87 saffari that died on me on the highway,a mech. I know saw me pulled over and we started trouble shooting the problem.Finnally pulled dist. cap to check rotor,it was scorched and badly worn.We figured maybe the spark wasn't jumping the gape so we put a small piece of cardboard under the rotor to raise it up a little bit started the van and was able to drive it home and to get a new rotor the next day.That saved me a big tow charge!!!!!Hope this tip comes in handy for you guys.

 

I loved my safari, it died at 199xxx. Wish I'd have known that trick, it was having numerous issues at that time though. Very solid vehicle I'll probably buy another.
