G20 instrumetn cluster
Hello,
I have a 1984 G20, put in a new motor, new tranny, I put a lot of money on it.
Now, the instrument cluster is dark. I guess all the bulbs need to be replaced. Is there a DIY guide on replacing them? Also, the transmission screen with the needle 1 2 D N is dark. I have no Idea how to replace bulbs there.
So I have 2 questions:
What kind of bulbs should I buy?
Where can I find it if I want to replace the whole instrument cluster?
I could only find stuff from 1992 to 1994, but it looks exactly the same as I have on my 1984 G20.

seems exactly the same as I have, but this comes from a 1992 Chevy van.
thanks a lot

If all those bulbs are not working I would check the fuse block first. They don't generally all quit at once, it's more likely they are not getting power.
The 92 cluster is different but the bulbs should be the same.
Cluster bulbs are the same bayonet base like a 194 or something you can buy in any parts store, but they use that plastic holder for contact. Hard to remove the plastic without breaking the bulb base and the metal contact on new bulbs needs to be pulled around the side to contact the metal part of the holder. I tried swapping LEDs into mine and they work intermittently at best.
The good news is like every GM cluster used them so if you have a salvage yard handy you can just pull a bunch of them there and it's an easy swap in.
The cover for the shift indicator on the column unscrews and the bulb is under there. Here again it may not be getting power, kind of rare for them to blow.
