I'd actually be Ok with it. Just give it some ***** and make sure it rides/handles well. Make sure it will pull/haul/take off.
Many times I wish I just bought a Grumman. However, I do like the idea of trying not to look "commercial" with my current daily driver. A part of me was kind of hoping the Savana/Express would just get drop in electric motors. Then we could all upgrade. On the other hand, a new platform with straight sides, better doors, etc. is welcome in my books. Just not in my bank account and credit line that does not exist.

The picture confused me. It shows their medium truck, but they are making a van too (like the Savana). There's no photos yet though.
"GM is keeping details on the forthcoming Chevy-branded electric van under wraps"
I'd say there's a 0.000001% chance that it's a "drop-in" upgrade.

Vans sit so high I would think it would be fairly easy to make an electric conversion with batteries under the floor in the space normally used by trans, driveshaft, exhaust and fuel tank and motors on the rear axle. A small gas engine could even be retained underhood to charge the system and extend the range.
