UK owner, collecting her today, straight six (Got a rebuilt V8 ready to drop in) but she's on a Q plate.

They give Q plate's when age cannot be determined, happens occasionally on imports when the right documentation was missing. DVLA have told me if I can get some proof of age they can remove the Q plate and issue me with a proper age related plate.

Where am I going to find this info, I know on my trans am I can pay and get a copy of the sales sheet, where can i do this for my van. It was an ex army van.

Any help would be appreciated as I don't want a Q plate if I can help it.

If it's a 1978 it's 31 years old. Don't know what they put on the GM trucks when they are built for England, but the VIN# should tell you all you need to know...when & where it was built, what series van, etc........you can order shop manuals inline...a shop manual will have all that information about the vin numbers..........(there should also be a options tag located under the hood...should tell all the factory options ordered with the van....if it's still there)
