Default How do I store my van for winter?

I have a 1989 Vandura 2500 and I'm thinking of storing it outside for the next 6-7 months.

Obviously I'll remove the battery. But do I need to put stabil or an additive in it and then fill the tank?

Do I need to fill the tank all the way? Will all that gas be wasted after all that time outside?

I'm in the upper midwest. Usually I leave it in running condition because I use it, but I'm not planning to do that this winter.

Wash, wax, oil change, ensure coolant is good to -40. I run the fuel tank as dry as possible and use non ethanol fuel for the last tank. Use stabilizer if you like but for that time period I've never had a problem with fuel going bad in our cold climate. May want to cover the windows to protect fromUV as well. Fill tires to max pressure to help with flat spots.

tank full all the way with ethanol free fuel and stabilizer, to eliminate condensation and rust.
It's only half a year you don't have to crazy with it. Block the engine intake , and cowl, so you don't get critters inside.

Good idea to block the intake.

This past winter I let it sit for just a few months, maybe 3, and the gas caused it to stumble a few times. That's the reason I'm asking about the process this year.

I was hoping to avoid spending $120 on gas for it to sit all winter, but I assume that even after being treated, that gas should run just fine come spring?

yes good old corn free gas should last 6 months and work fine, if you can find it.
Our idiot Turdeau outlawed it.
