Default HVAC and headlight controls don't illuminate

2020 2500 base cargo model. The three round buttons for climate control do not have lights. I cannot seem to find any information on this all of my search results keep producing the entire control module. Am I to assume that’s because they are not replaceable? I brought it to a mechanic and he said he replaced the bulbs. The headlight switch does not light up as well and he said he replaced that bulb too. But none of them work… was I lied to?

It's a warranty issue. Take it to GM to fix.

That's too bad.
Have you checked all your fuses & relays?

Well at this point I’m not too concerned with actually fixing it as much as I am trying to ascertain if the used car dealer lied to me and scammed me when he told me he replaced the “bulbs” knowing it was sold as is and he won’t do any further work than what he did. Of course they don’t want to invest anything more than they have to with a used vehicle… so before I strut in there telling them they are full of crap I want to make 100% sure there’s no way he did

Try tapping the HVAC controls. Mine will flicker off. If I give it a few taps, they will light back up. Haven't cared enough to investigate yet

Side note: is the turn signal stalk not illuminated? Was hard to set my wipers at the correct speed at night when I didn't have the settings memorized.
