Default inerface module

My question is are these the only way to get the chimes and blinker sounds back after installing an aftermarket head unit? my older vans didn't have this issue so this is a new thing for me but i personally find it difficult to justify $200 just for blinker sounds and door chimes. Not sure whats in the stock radio that allows it to play though the speakers that the new one does not

It's not the $200 interface module that you need. That's for keeping the steering wheel controls and other factory features. It doesn't handle the chimes as far as I know.

This will handle the chimes for under $70.00. At least it worked in my 2011. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120AXD...Interface.html

Also, you should put your year and model van in your signature or add it to any post. This site covers decades of vehicles.

There is a part 20901252 that you can find for cheap on ebay that is (was?) installed for vans ordered with the radio delete option.

The module only needs power, ground, and gmlan to work. I made a harness to plug it into my OBD port.

Just to be clear about this, when you buy it, it is often listed as "Anti-Theft Alarm Control Unit" or "Multi-Function Alarm" or some such, but that is not what it is. It is just the chime module. It makes all the chime sounds: turn singal, door, seatbelt, park assist, key-in, etc. It's expensive if you buy it new, but used ones are not hard to come by.

I just zip-tied mine in behind the kick panel in the driver side footwell. It works and sounds just fine.
