Instrumentation Panel Lighting Headache
Hey all - this is my first post on the site, thanks in advance for taking the time to reply to my question. I'm having a cryptic issue with my dash instrumentation, I'm not sure where to start and hope someone has a little insight on it.
I recentIy bought a 2000 Express, I hopped in the van last night to find that when I switched my headlights on the backlighting for the instrument panel (as well as the lighting for the HVAC) didn't come on with them. The radio works, and the individual push buttons for things such as the defrost light up. I swapped out the #4 (gauges) and #14 (illum) fuses with no change. Now this is the odd part - when I depress the central locking "lock" button from any door, the lights come on and the dash emits a beep. This happens only when and for as long as I hold the button down.
Has anyone experienced this before, or does anyone have any suggestions?
