Yikes! $2/SF! The interior surfaces of my van are painted so little chance of rust. I just bought some foam rubber and glued it to the walls with spray contact cement. Not super deluxe material but adequate and inexpensive.

Dynamat type stuff doesn't do much for insulation, more for sound. If you want insulation, most guys are going with a product called reflectix. you can get it at lowes for pretty cheap.
Instead of the dynamat/fatmat stuff, buy a few rolls of the "peel-n-seal" stuff from lowes/home depot. What these products do is deaden the panel. So the metal doesn't vibrate and transmit sounds. You only need a little bit per panel. Then cover that with the reflectix insulation.
Do a google search for reflectix and van and peel-n-seal, you should get a bunch of hits.

This is what I used on the wife's Vibe for sound anyway. I plan to install some in the van soon. Well the roofing stuff anyway.
I'm in and out of the van so the heat does not really bother me except when stuck in going home traffic on the interstate.
Here are some before and after pics. The stuff was cheap and I even had beer leftover.
I also used some sound proofing by Roxul.
