Intermittant engine stalling
After more than an hour trying to get the threads started on the #7 plug I threw in the towel. I went and got the neighbor, dream neighbor, grew up in a machine shop, fathers hobby was building race cars, became a helicopter mechanic in the Marines. Good guy and always busy so I do not ask unless I am in dire straits! Took him about 30 minutes to get it installed. He did use 1/4" drive instead of the 3/8" I was using. 3 more to go!!
I managed to get the job done, the plugs were in good condition and showed no anomaly. Wires seemed ok, lots of corrosion in the distributor cap but no signs of crack, rotor seemed ok but replaced all and now do not have to do it for a 100,000 miles. It has been a few weeks and have put a couple hundred miles on and no hesitation!! So possibly a loose connection or something like that but in all likelihood was the cam position sensor.
