I do a lot of work on the vehicle on the fly. Older models tend to throw problems at random. So, floor jack it is.

I think he's talking about a jack for emergency. Do you carry the floor jack around with you all the time?

Ummm, ok. Full disclosure. In the back there's floor jack, bottle jack, factory jack, plug kit, full size spare (on the door), and tire pump. There's also a tool cart and jump box. I was an Eagle Scout.

I used to carry a floor jack, jack stands, impact wrenches and a whack of tools just in case...probably 150lbs of stuff in the trunk. These days, I refuse (i'm to old) to fix my vehicle on the side of the road so I carry a AAA card and have it towed to my shop.

What can you fix on the side of the road anyways...change a tire, install a belt.

I also carry a lot of tools and a AAA card ,

plus my van has a full size spare if needed ,

I might bring a full size jack if I was going cross country ,
the stock jack works fine but you cannot be sure you are going to be on a firm surface and not dirt or gravel.

You mean dirt like this?

ME two days ago. My arm hurt after cracking those nuts. I think he over torques them with the air gun.

Yeah,
AAA caro is a must. I used to have a 12v impact tool, dunno where it is now. And yeah I was referring to an emergency jack.

Great comments everyone, thanks

one of the things I hate is putting lug nuts on with a air gun and not go back on torque them correctly....
this seems to be the Wal mart way !

you have no idea if they are at 50 lbs or 125 lbs

here is the proper way , loosen up a lug nut with a breaker bar , and then tighten with a torque wrench ,
if its a clicker torque wrench , stop when it clicks.
I do not like loosing up unknown lug nuts with the torque wrench as you have no idea how overtight they are ,
and its not good for the torque wrench ,

Yes this takes some time , but now you can be pretty sure that your lug wrench will get them off .......

ohhh why not take a breaker bar / proper socket and a piece of pipe with you anyway......
