Well, I did it. I took the bed apart. I have a couple large thing I have to move, so this will give me the chance to do things a little differently. But truthfully, most of my projects like this seem to do better the second time around. Sometimes the third.

Objectives are to lower it 2 to 3 inches, and built it closer to the rear doors. I had left gap of 4 or 5 inches, and the pillows seem to fall down the hole. Before I disassembled it, I scribed a line to show the contour of the doors and walls (as opposed to the straight line across the width). The move to the rear will be a combination of moving the plywood back on the frame, and moving the frame itself. The tricky part will be shortening the flip down piece on the front side.

The lowering will be kinda tricky as well. Under the legs, I put a lateral 2X4 for more stability. If I leave it, it will compromise the room I have for drawers, so I need to figure out how to do it and still have the stability. I saw in another forum where they took out the seat rails. That looks like too much work.

I'll try to do a better job of documenting it.

And it all has to be done by January. I've been invited on a cold weather camp trip.

This is getting confusing. He asked here, and I posted pics of them in his thread, but there's been too much going on in there to find them. Here is what they look like. The center comes on with the doors, and the sides have switches. I don't know if they take the same bulbs.
