I have installed 5x7 Autopal headlights and the cutoff is like OEM and I put LED bulbs and havent had any issues.

I think the factory spec headlights are engineered specifically to be as bright as possible without blinding everybody. When you need more, you turn on the high beams.
LEDs usually have ****ty spectral distribution (bad color) compared to halogen too.

So is there a gasket to keep moisture out?

 

I had to cut some of the plastic to make room for the heat sink of the LED. After I had it install you can tell that the light needed to be adjusted down. I like how bright they are and also the color.

 

Don't forget that halogen lamps (and LEDs too) dim with age, so it could have been time to change them. In your photo they look totally pooched.

 

I underexposed the picture to capture the hotpots better. Both of them had more light spill.

 

So I instelled the LED bulbs, they are really bright, and install was fast and easy.

But.... I got the finger from drivers in front of me at night with low beam. High beams were great as everything was lite up, but drivers coming my way, and the drivers going in the same direction i was going, in from of me, gave the finger.

I think they are too bright and not properly aligned, but how can I adjust light aim?

 

Find a building or wall on level ground you can pull up close to. Using tape, mark the top of the beam. Back off 50 feet or so, and if the beam is higher, they need to adjust down. There are screws on the housing to adjust them.

 

From my pictures you can see that I had to adjust the beam a lot. I haven't had anyone flash me or honk at me because of the headlights. I haven't bought the high beams but will once they go on sale.
