In the process of installing an aftermarket radio I lowered the steering wheel by undoing the 2 nuts closest to the dash, the wheel dropped about 1 1/2 inch and this part fell out. It is broken on both ends. What is it, what do I do now? 01 chevy express 5.7 cab&chassis converted to Roadtrek RV.

finish removing the dash bezel I guess and look for the rest of that piece

 

I looked as best I could, hopefully someone else will chip in and identify it!

 

I went to a pick and pull, $3 to get in. I went through 4 Chevy express, a 99, 2001, 2002 and 03 is various stages of disassembly and could not find anything that looks like this part! Think I will keep it and when I sell I will stuff the part up under the dash LOL.
