Timing chain had skipped 2 teeth, work is in progress! Doing the whole nine, whatevers recommended during this job is getting done, water pump as well. Cant wait!

Just to add a little further, the wire was actually rubbing against a stud on the motor and frayed, right side of the motor near the exhaust manifold. 200k no complaints! Was actually offered 2800 by his Landlord, but his advice was to keep it the truck should be running great for a long time to come!

I have bought a few vans from the car auctions and have looked at thousands to find the few I bought. There are TONS that are well in to the 300k's that are still running around. 200k should have a lot of miles left.

My 1995 Chevy 1500 truck stock alarm will not let it start. Already checked battery and connections. Alarm has switch, clicker and button. Already tried different combinations between them.

Doubtful that it is a stock alarm. It is likely an aftermarket one that has failed....
You may have to rip it out.
If it has an ignition interrupt, then you have to bypass that.
Or, with key in on position you can prob jump to the starter to get it going....
