Default No power steering after pump removal/replace

Hi guys, I have an 02 Gmc Safari that I took the power steering pump off of to fix a leaking seal. (rear large seal) System was working fine, just leaking fluid everywhere from this worn gasket. Thoroughly cleaned pump, replace gaskets, put back on, primed it by spinning beltless pulley and totally flushed entire system and put in new fluid. Did the famous tires off the ground and turn steering wheel back and forth 20 times. All to no avail! Even took van down the rd a ways to rev engine up and get fluid to flowing at higher rpm's nothing. Brakes are very stiff and only work about 50% of normal. HELP!

Sounds like you have the hydroboost, is there an air bubble in it because the lines come up higher than the pump?

That is very likely.

Try bleeding your brakes first, before you decide to change the booster
