So I did a compression check on all 8 cylinders someone had said to bump the motor five times and read the pressure. I thought I read somewhere to Max it out until it doesn't go any furtherI . don't know which is which but at five bumps they all measured right around 60 to 64 lb

Sorry about that guys just disregard the last message I did a compression check to the max on all the cylinders and this is what I got the left side 13 5 and 7 192 lb on everyone the right side 170 on number two 155 on 4 and 6 and 130 on 8 with a little oil we got 140 so that's probably the head gasket right the right side I'll wait till I hear from you
And again thank you for all the information I do appreciate it

So is my thinking proper it's because the right side of the motor has such a low pressure is that probably the head gasket I've been reading a lot of stuff on maybe it's manifold or maybe it could be somewhere around the timing chain
Should I proceed to do the head gasket

It's hard to diagnose over the Internet. If I suspected a bad head gasket I'd likely have to make a hard decision on if I should just pull the whole engine and go through the whole thing vs trying to pull just one head in the van.

Thanks for reply
I decided to start the head gasket process
So far I have removed the dog house , radiator, spark.plugs and wires, valve covers ,both dipsticks and oil filler and the right side exhaust manifold
I'll continue the intake manifold and the right side head
Is there anything I should look for

Use a straight edge to check if the head has warped.

Ok guys that didn't fix it but there was low pressure all along that side so I figured its got better pressure now but still oil in water
What else could cause this could it be a water pump is not transmission fluid it's oil that's not the oil cooler
I am at a standstill so somebody can educate me on this I'm on the side of the road hoping you'll get back to me real quick thanks for all your replies I do appreciate it
