You should be able to find the paint code on the driver's side door jamb. Use this web page for reference on where to locate the door jamb https://www.gmpartsprime.com/service/gm-vin_number.html

On my 90 G20 there's a placard that has all the codes on it, including the paint code, attached to the inside of the opening compartment over the engine cover. My van is the same medium blue color, I don't remember the number but it starts out WA. Seems to me there's a 74 in there somewhere.

Thanks for the responses. unfortunately I struck out in those two locations. I was hoping to find what blues are from 90 and narrow it down by sight but its easier said than done.

...i added a pic to my avatar in case anyone can id it for sure. Maybe WA7154?? Thx

...so to update...yesterday i confirmed from the driver door exterior the faint evidence that this van started its life with the Air Force. Thanks for your service ... after a little search i learned of a "strata blue" FS15045 not a gm number but an air force one.

Glad you found your paint code. Being a military van, you were right when you said it was Federal blue...

Lots of places sell military paint. If you have any questions, check out the forum steelsoldiers.com there's plenty of knowledge over there for all things military.

Would be cool to find out where your van served.
