Default Power steering pump failure

Hey y’all,
I Have an 05 express 2500 6.0L and for some reason no matter how many times I change my power steering pump it develops a leak which grows until the pump goes bad. Can anyone help me diagnose what is causing this issue?

Welcome from Florida. When you replace the power steering pump are you using a rebuilt one from a quality company or a quality new one?

No idea about the pump going out, but I change the oil out too ,every year with synthetic power steering fluid, not ATF.

Dexron VI is synthetic, but the 2005 manual specifies GM power steering fluid. I don't think non synthetic fluid causes leaks.

I would look at belt alignment and tensioner condition. Definitely flush the system whenever you change a component and use the correct fluid as mentioned.
I bought a Mopar steering gear last year from a reputable overhauler and it had the wrong fluid in it.
