Default Removing fan clutch 1997 5.7L (belt driven)

1997 Express 3500 5.7L
Before you read my explanation, I'd be interested to hear any suggestions anyone has for removing the fan clutch.

Like the title says I can't for the life of me get the fan clutch off. I have a manual from All Data, and the instructions say to spin counter-clockwise. I spin in that direction (facing the vehicle) and I can't get it off. I rented the removal tool, unscrewed 2 of the pulley bolts, and used a crowbar to wedge between them and hold the pulley in place while attempting to turn. It actually bent one of the screws from the force, but I think that's my fault for unscrewing it a bit too far. I'd appreciate any and all advice. Thanks a lot.

Try spraying it with Blaster or Liquid Wrench while tapping it so that they seep into the threads. Then try again.

I agree...the 4 bolts behind the clutch should allow you to take the fan and clutch out right? Or is there a nut on the shaft maybe?
