Default Removing plastic door panels on Cargo Express

I have a 2008 Chevy Express Cargo van...just the plain ol white van. On the doors in the cargo area, there is a factory plastic door panel, fastened with what looks like a black rivet...
I need to remove one of the door panels...I pulled in the "rivet" area to see if I could easily pop the panel off, but it is not giving at all, and I do not want to break the fastener or the panel trying to remove it.
What is the proper method to remove this interior panel?
THANKS!

Use a pry bar to pry the door off. You can pull it off just enough to see the gold colored clips holding the door skin on from underneath the panel

Those clips are super-sturdy. It takes some strength to get them out.
